Parental Consent for Minors Clinic Policy:
ML family Counselling provides therapeutic services to minors under 16 years of age as long as we have signed consent from the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) as well as assent of the child.
There are times we require both parents signed consent and there are times we require only one parent’s signed consent.
IMPORTANT: All legal provisions regarding custody must be disclosed at the time of Intake.

It is essential that parents and the therapist remain focused on the child's needs, not parental conflict. Unfortunately, custody disputes can create conflict, with parents seeking information to support their case in court. To protect the therapeutic relationship, we do not take sides or participate in legal matters, now or in the future. If these boundaries are not respected, therapy may be denied or discontinued to ensure the child's well-being and progress.
