Mental Health First Aid® — Mental Health First Aid® is a skills-based, evidence-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge in adults ages 18 and over. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it builds mental health literacy, providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental health or substance use challenge. Mental Health First Aid, sometimes called Adult Mental Health First Aid, is available in English and Spanish. We will be able to provide specific training for Veterans, public safety, law enforcement, rural, older adults and other populations very soon!

The program requires completion of a 2-hour self-paced online instruction followed by 5.5 hour instructor-led virtual training. In-person local Silver City trainings may be available, please inquire!

This class size will be limited to 8 and minimum registration is 6.

It is led by Marie C. Weil, PsyD, ABPP, certified MHFA® Instructor.

Class manuals will be mailed (USPS) to participants. Participant processing guides will be available online and downloadable. Cost includes fees for registration to MHFA National Council for Wellbeing, manuals and virtual-led instructor training.

Cost: $150 (mail check to PO Box 922, Silver City, NM 88062 or invoiced to pay by credit card). Fees include online + hard-copy of manual along with MHFA national registration for self-paced instruction + instructor-led training. The value of the program is $170 and has been subsidized by your instructor.

Successful participants will have access to online materials and obtain their certificate showing they are a certified Mental Health First Aider. Participants must complete all three components: pre-work online, both Saturday trainings, and successfully pass the exam.

REFUNDS: Full refunds will be provided with 72-hour (business day) notification cancellation to mariecweil@mariecweilpsyd.com NO REFUNDS if notice is less than 72-hours business days. Cancellation will forfeit any pre-work completed online and must be done again if you register in the future or for a different class/instructor.
