You’ve Taken The First Step Towards Reclaiming Control Over Your Sleep

I’m so excited to get started helping you on your journey toward a future full of more restful nights. By choosing online CBT-I you’ve made the decision to improve your quality of life and finally start living life to its full potential.


When is this program not suitable?

An online CBT-I program is not suitable in some circumstances. For example, if you have been diagnosed with or suspect any of the following might apply to you, please speak to your physician and/or seek help from an appropriate accredited professional in your area, rather than proceeding with this online program:

  • Seizure Disorder
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Active Alcohol and Drug Use Disorder (please note: a "disorder" involves significant substance use and is not the same as recreational use)
  • Severe mental health issues or challenges, such as hallucinations, severe depression or recent thoughts of suicide within the last 3 months.
  • Rotating shift work

What happens next?

  1. You’ll receive an a standard informed consent form via the Owl Practice platform (check spam, if you don't see it by tomorrow).
  2. After you submit the forms, a sleep therapist will review everything and send you a unique code for you to use to sign in when you download the app.
  3. The message will include everything you need to know to easily download the app and access your personalized therapist-guided program.
  4. Once you have access to the program your 6-weeks begin. A sleep therapist will send you recommendations and support once per week and respond to your questions.
  5. Throughout your program your progress will be monitored. Strategies and suggestions will be personalized according to you.

Data Storage

Please note that, like most sleep tracker apps, your data will be stored outside Canada and therefore subject to the privacy regulations of other countries. However, we are happy to provide a secure messaging option using Canadian servers. If you have any concerns, please contact us before beginning as we have other services which include data stored within Canada.


If you mention potential harm to yourself or someone else (such as considering suicide, or a current situation of child abuse) or a court order, we have a duty to report these dangers.
Insomnia Help Canada staff and/or contractors may have access to limited information in order to fulfill their job duties, such as intake forms, billing, scheduling, and tech support.
