Your procedure will be on (Put the date below) At RMC Outpatient Located on the 2nd floor of the hospital. Parking is past the ER Ambulance ramp in the Outpatient Center parking lot. The GI Lab should call you before 1 pm the day before your procedure to give you a time. If you have not heard from them by 1 pm call 256-235-5676

Stop taking

SUTAB PREP Recept Pharmacy 205-558-5371 will call you to set up the delivery of the medication. It takes about a week so please get with them.

On the day before your test

Drink only clear liquids. Avoid all red, pink or purple colored liquids.
Do not eat any solid food or milk products until your test is done.

Clear Liquid: NO RED, PINK OR PURPLE

Gatorade, Powerade NO Red, Pink or Purple
Clear broth or bouillon (beef, chicken or Vegetable
Coffee or tea (no milk or non-dairy creamer)
Carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks
Kool-Aid or other fruit-flavored drinks
Strained fruit juices (no pulp) (apple or White grape)
Jell-O no fruit, popsicles, hard candy (no red or purple) Gingerale, sprite,

Not Clear Liquid:

No red, pink or purple items of any kind
No alcohol
No milk or nondairy creamers
No noodles or vegetables in soup
No juice with pulp
No liquid you cannot see through

** Diabetic Gatorade G2 Powerade Zero, Crystal light, Diet soda, Sugar fee jello and sugar free popsicles

IF YOU ARE A DIABETIC TAKE ONLY HALF OF YOUR DIABETIC MEDICATION THE DAY BEFORE THE PROCEDURE. DO NOT TAKE ANY DIABETIC MEDICATION THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE.

AT 5 PM

Open 1 bottle of 12 tablets
Fill the provided container with 16 ounces of water. Swallow 1 tablet with a sip of water every 2 to 3 minutes. Hydrate with clear liquids before, during and after your prep. Finish all 12 of the tablets.

AT 6 PM

Drink another 16 ounces of water. Finish in 30 Min

AT 6:30 PM

Drink another 16 ounces of water. Finish in 30 Min

You can continue to drink clear liquids after taking prep

The morning of the colonoscopy

6 Hours prior to your arrival time

Arrival time:

Open 1 bottle of 12 tablets. Fill the provided container with 16 ounces of water. Swallow 1 tablet with a sip of water every 2 to 3 min. Finish all 12 tablets.
1 hour later drink 16 ounces. Finish in 30 min
30 min later drink 16 ounces. Finish in 30 min.

Do not eat or drink anything until after your test is done.
You will need to take blood pressure medication, arrhythmia medication, seizure medication and breathing medication, (including inhalers), as early as possible the morning of the procedure with a small of a sip of water. Bring with your Diabetic medication and inhalers for possible use after procedure.
Bring a complete list of all medications with you to the procedure.
RMC Scheduling should call you the day before your procedure to give an arrival time and also any copay or deductible information If you do not hear from them, please call them 256-235-5141 option 2 and 2

NO SHOWS AND CANCELLATIONS WITHOUT 72 HOUR NOTICE WILL BE CHARGED A FEE OF $200. Please call 256-237-1001 the Procedure extension if you need to reschedule or cancel.
