Crystal graduated from the University of British Columbia with a master’s degree in social work and is a registered social worker and registered clinical counsellor. She has over twenty-five years of experience working with youth, families, and adults within the private and mental health continuum for public health care, working as a clinician, team leader, and educator. With a background in treating complex trauma and PTSD, Crystal is a certified EMDR therapist and an approved EMDR consultant. She has a strong background in treating post-trauma stress injuries with adult survivors of childhood trauma and working with public safety personnel treating post-traumatic injuries. Crystal worked as an EMDR therapist at the BCOSI clinic, treating PTSI for military and Emergency Responders and with families and couples within the Veteran and police population. She created an intensive EMDR template (four days of three-hour sessions) for successfully treating post-traumatic injuries with public safety personnel (dispatch, firefighters, and military populations). A leader in the field of EMDR, she currently provides consulting for EMDR therapists and facilitates EMDR practicum for students through the BC school of psychology. She is the organizer for the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program in Vancouver, working recently with refugees from Ukraine,
