Before uploading, check that the prescription clearly shows:

• Patient’s full name

• Prescriber’s name and signature

• Whether oxygen is prescribed as continuous flow, pulse dose, or both

• The prescribed continuous-flow rate in liters per minute (LPM) and/or pulse-dose setting, as applicable

• When oxygen is needed, including any different instructions for rest, activity, or sleep

A pulse-dose setting is not the same as a continuous-flow rate in LPM. If instructions are missing or unclear, Americare may need to contact the prescriber before releasing your order.
